E Leon Myers is a fashion and celebrity photographer based in Los Angeles. His interest in photography began at an early age with a fascination in shooting his friends skateboarding and snowboarding. The challenge of capturing a compelling image of a fleeting moment in time, by the control of correct film, camera aperture and shutter speed, solidified the enchantment.
His work progressed and he won several school, district, state and national photography awards in which his high school instructor, Mr. Jacoby, had entered his work. While a junior in high school, Mr. Jacoby shared several of E Leon’s images with the curator of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. E Leon’s work was accepted and placed on display in the Young and Upcoming Artist Gallery at the Museum.
Soon after the exhibit, E Leon was contacted by the Dean of Brooks Institute of Photography and was offered acceptance to this prestigious school. While at Brooks, E Leon's passion for photography grew along with his education. He feels most fortunate to have received full exposure to film, darkroom and digital. After his graduation, Brooks focused on digital and no longer offers film and darkroom. E Leon believes his training in both classic wet chemical and state-of-the-art digital technology has enhanced his underlying understanding and mastery of the image capturing process.
E Leon developed an affinity, then passion, for fashion photography. His senior year a Brooks he was awarded the coveted internship with world renown Michael Thomson in New York City. While in New York, E Leon also worked on set for Richard Avedon and David LaChapelle. Upon his return to Santa Barbara he began shooting editorial fashion and beauty, and just prior to graduation from Brooks, he began assisting for celebrity portrait photographer John Russo, where E Leon further honed his skills.
After graduation E Leon established his studio, One Take Studio, in a converted warehouse in the Artist District of downtown Los Angeles where he continues to shoot fashion, beauty, advertising and celebrity portraiture.
